This Futura type specimen book was the last project in Type 1. This wasn’t the first project that combined type and layout, but it was the first time we incorporated a grid system. I designed a simple grid with a “fun” component in the margins, so it wouldn’t feel boring. (The ’20s were definitely not boring.) Using a geometric sans from the 1920s, I centered the theme around geometric shapes and the time period. The color palette and the subject choice (writers of the time) that displayed the font’s variations were made to showcase the 1920’s.
