After Effects

For this project, I designed a short animation with sound that portrayed the constellation “Vulpecula,” a fox. This was done to learn the basics of Adobe AfterEffects.

I started this project by researching the constellation. Vulpecula was said to have been created by an astronomer and given no real story or context. Sometimes the fox is portrayed as carrying a goose in his mouth but some tell the story that the goose was eaten or flew off as time passed. Starting the creative process, I began finding “The Cosmos,” taking high quality scans of interesting textures to create “cosmic” backgrounds. After that, I began using AE, trying to create depth with a moving background and fading stars. To pursue the concept behind the lore, I drew frames that the animation would move through. I pushed the lore further by imagining that over time, the fox without a story became tormented, becoming a disturbed deathly creature, inspired by work I saw on deviantArt. To finalize this dark transformation, I used sounds that portrayed a happy beginning turned nightmarish.

    The Warner Bros film is released on October 4th.

    After the release of the first film, Joaquin shut down rumours he
    only ate an apple a day to achieve his astonishing weight loss, telling Access Hollywood that he consumed more food than that
     ⁠— though not much more.  

    ‘It wasn’t an apple a day. No, you’ve also got lettuce and
    steamed green beans,’ he said of what he ate in preparation for
    the role. 

    The actor previously admitted that ‘you start to go mad when you
    lose that amount of weight in that amount of time’

    While speaking with Access Hollywood, Joaquin explained he consulted with a doctor to ensure he lost weight
    as safely as possible

    Although Joaquin has lost weight for roles before, he admitted that ‘Joker’ director Todd Phillips didn’t make it easy on him. 

    The Her star recalled how the producer always had the one food item he craved on hand, which made his diet a bit more
    of a struggle. 

    ‘Todd did have these f*****g pretzels that I love. And he’d just
    have bags of them in his office!’ he said. ‘And that was difficult.’ 

    Joaquin’s character is wearyingly thin in the film, and he admitted that
    he had reservations about taking on such a drastic weight loss. 

    ‘It’s a horrible way to live,’ he told the New York Times.
    ‘I think [the Joker] should be kind of heavy. Todd was like,
    ‘I think you should do the real thin person.”

    Joaquin previously said his extreme diet helped him prepare for the role in more ways
    than one. 

    ‘The first thing for us was the weight loss — I think
    that’s really what I started with,’ he said of working with the film’s director. 

    ‘And, as it turns out, that then affects your psychology.
    You start to go mad when you lose that amount of weight in that amount of time.’

    The Bostick family’s display is put on for charity but has
    proved so popular they have won Garden City’s annual
    holiday lights contest.

    Kyle has run lights throughout the last two years including on 4th of July and Valentine’s Day after starting out last Halloween, his wife Christina’s favourite holiday.

    Group. Each new show now raises money for another charity.

    The family went a step further with a 4th of July show this year, organising an ice cream truck to stop for kids and even integrating fireworks into the performance.

  230. Nov 25 (Reuters) – Citigroup’s wealth unit has greenlit special retention bonuses for dozens of personnel this year as the Wall Street giant looks to prevent more bankers from leaving, Bloomberg News reported on Monday.

    Andy Sieg, who was hired last year by the lender, said the unit’s
    recent results are starting to take hold, the report said,
    citing an interview with the head of wealth.

    Sieg reshuffled leaderships and reiterated financial targets earlier in the year in a bid to turn around the lackluster performance in the wealth arm.

    His “abrupt” personnel changes have rankled some Citi executives, the report said,
    prompting bankers to defect.

    To counter that, Citi has doled out bonuses to staff particularly in the
    wealth unit and to some in the private bank business to reward
    them for staying into next year, the report said, citing
    people familiar with the matter.

    Citi’s moves came after the exodus of about 20 people from its wealth at work unit, the report said, adding that its
    private bank business has also lost about 10% of
    its most senior bankers in North America over the past year.

    The bank is also hiring more brokers to its entry-level wealth segment,
    Citigold, by offering sweetened pay deals while improving its online self-directed investment
    platform, the report said.

    Citi did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

    The wealth unit posted revenue of $2.0 billion for the
    third quarter ended Sept. 30, an increase of 9%
    from a year ago.

    This comes as the bank under CEO Jane Fraser carries out
    an extensive reorganization in an effort to improve the bank’s performance, reduce costs and streamline operations.

    Citi’s wealth business has failed to surpass its main banking rivals since
    the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, the Bloomberg report said.

    Citigroup’s shares, which were up about 1% in early trading,
