This was my first project for Type I class. The project was to take a quote that our professor assigned to us and create a typeface in FontStruct and stylized it in the mood of our quotes. My quote was “Unknown, Incomprehensible, Whatever you choose to call it; but leave it vague as airy space, Dark in it darkness mystical.” Before starting on the project we had to figure out what is the mood of our quotes. To me the quote had a feeling of disappearing or fading away like a mirage. For that reason I stylized my typeface in a way that the type looks like they are an illusion but still look clearly to know what kind of character it is. The next thing was to create a posters that showed all of the characters we created and the quote that inspired it. I then finished the design by adding simple shapes and colors that would complement my typeface design.
