Critique- I think this video is well put together. The icons are finely styled. The timing of the video is quick but not rushed, and it meets the 5 second requirement. I like how the city names appear before the icons go into place, because it makes it very legible. I can see the icons waiting to go into place at the right of the screen and that makes good sense to me with the category theme. I think the motion of the icons is smooth. Once the icons get into place they perform a suitable action. The only ones I think are distracting are the rain and sun icons at the end, which move a little too much and draw my attention there. So I end up looking at the moving icons instead of the ones coming on stage and I miss some of the information. The typeface looks like the default Myriad in Illustrator, and it could have had a little more customization. It is a good choice because it is easy to read, however.
The video ends with an empty stage as it should.
There is supposed to be a second video depicting Hierarchy.
i would reverse the animation. the original map i gave you needs to move towards “categories” like how you started your video, you should actually end there, with the city names to the left in rows and the map gone.
