Doing new activities in Austin was exciting, and when those experiences became an assignment it meant truly experiencing something new through the eyes of design. My artistic skills allowed me to create a design that illustrated my experiences at the H.O.P.E outdoor gallery, and at Gourdough’s. Instead of buttons or a patch I created tattoos and drew my inspiration from classic sailor tattoos. The tattoos are all hand drawn and colored, except for the text, triangular light rays, and textures surrounding the subjects, which I created through illustrator. My artistic capabilities infused with my newly acquired designer techniques allowed me to succeed in portraying my experience.
