This was an introductory exercise in my first Typography class. Despite the simplicity of my work I attempted to add a scary theme to the word “Boo,” in order to create a stronger relation between the actual word and the action of scaring. I had no Typography knowledge or skills previous to this assignment, and it was difficult to capture the essence of the word without being allowed to manipulate the font face. However, this assignment helped me understand that a font-face is not the only thing that defines a words characteristics or nature.
