Onomatopoeia

For this project, we needed to create a word with expression. I chose to go with a word that has meaning to me in my life. Since I own dogs, I was around them quite a bit and then decided that I would use the word “woof” to fulfill this project. This word that I have chosen is associated with dogs, therefore I wanted to create imagery that I felt would showcase a “woof.” My word embodies this project by taking a word and giving it life. To me, a woof was something that is expression and the one thing that I associated dogs with the most was slobber. That is when I made the design decision to make the word “woof” look like it had been a chew toy for a dog. Since barking is a significant way in which dogs communicate to us and with one another, I felt that showing “woof” covered in slobber and making it look like its been through some hard times, made my word come to life. Also, I feel that with the decisions that I made, my word was enhanced greatly. The drips of slobber everywhere really show that it belongs to a dog with a big bark.
