Creating a map of my journey when eating Pho Ga (Vietnamese Noodle Soup) for my Graphic Design I class was a process. After eating Pho several times I felt I had the different flavors, textures and smells sorted out. I felt Pho was a great choice because it is full of surprises; there’s also many different versions, and I chose a modernized one because it represents the one I truly know, the connection of the senses to a plate of food, and then transferring that onto a poster which ended looking like this. The ending result is probably one of my favorite ones, I felt my style as a designer keeps growing and can be seen in my work.

For my Graphic Design I class, I had to create a map of how my thinking works when making a decision. I chose to interpret my mind’s thinking process when ordering coffee, and took a different approach to what my work usually looks like to create this clockwise-decision making circle. The symbols in the four corners represent the four major questions I make myself when ordering coffee; Is it hot/cold? Do I want sweet/strong? Need the extra boost of energy? When looking at the finished result, I felt my symbol-making skills had progressed enormously, and I was very happy with the result.
