Who We Are
AUDREY
Hi there! My name is Audrey and I’m a third year communication major with a focus in PR and advertising. My hobbies include spending time with friends, reading and writing, befriending cats, and laying in my hammock. I’m from North Richland Hills, Tx originally and went to public schools all throughout my primary education. Teacher’s Pet was important to me because of the many inequities I saw in the public schools I attended. Despite the fact that I went to schools in nicer neighborhoods, there are still universal experiences that students of any public school can testify to. I hope you find our blog informative, inspiring, and hopeful for the future of education!
LIBERTY
Hello! My name is Liberty and I am a Third year Communication and Photography major at St. Edward’s University. I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and I went to public school my whole life until college. There are things that I went through and later realized it wasn’t normal for an elementary school student. Watching my mother work in a Title one Public school I am getting the behind the scenes of public education system. I am hoping for awareness of the Public school system and looking for a change. It’s so important to give children and teachers the support and resources they deserve.
RYAN
Hello! My name is Ryan and I am a senior Communication major at St. Edward’s University. I am from Round Rock, Texas, and attended public school for my elementary years before going to private school. This project is important to me because I have seen and heard about how the public school system is neglected through the media, close friends, and my educators. I feel like our society would benefit greatly from a reformed public school system, and one of the best ways to ignite that change is by raising awareness. I hope you find our blog inspiring, informative, and helpful!
SIERRA
Hi everyone! My name is Sierra! I am a senior psychology major from Maryland. My hobbies include studying colors, coloring, taking pictures, and listening to podcasts. With this project I want to raise awareness for certain inequalities that happen in public schools. This project is important to me as a product of someone that went to public school for a good portion of my life as well as having a parent who works in the DC Public school system. Welcome to our blog and I hope you enjoy reading!
JOSE
Hello! my name is Jose, I am a third-year student at St. Edwards University, majoring in Communication with a focus on PR and Advertising. Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have attended public schools my whole life up until now. This project is important to me because I have experienced the inequalities and insecurities within the public school system. So I hope that we inform parents and school workers about how broken the system is and would move towards creating a better public school reform for future generations!
