Bioinformatics Major James Stewart ’17 has been following his passion for numbers, data, and the environment in some very interesting ways. He’s gone from writing computer programs to analyze plant DNA at the horticulture department at Michigan State University, to researching soil’s bacteria content at Wild Basin to find out how trees grow and develop. James is passionate about the debate over climate change and will be pursuing a PhD in plant biology. He hopes to attend The University of Texas and is currently looking for lab jobs here in Austin.
