INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
EcoRise seeks a sustainability-minded intern for the position of Marketing Support & Social Media Intern. As part of a university-based, one-semester internship, this individual will support the EcoRise’s marketing efforts through a variety of tasks including market research; data collection, entry, and analysis; writing social copy and/or blog content; and curating EcoRise’s social media presence. The Marketing Support & Social Media Intern will work closely with and report to the Marketing & Design Specialist. If you are familiar with K–12 education or environmental education, self-driven, and ready to be part of something meaningful, we invite you to contribute your skills, ideas, and voice to our team and help us inspire a new generation of green leaders!
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities will include two or more of the following based on skill, interest, and desire to learn:
SOCIAL MEDIA SUPPORT:
- Write and schedule posts to be approved by team lead; curate additional relevant social posts to add interests to
- EcoRise social profiles, and attract more followers.
- Support the organization’s Spring fundraising by assisting with the social aspect of the campaign.
- Create a social media campaign based on an EcoRise initiative.
MARKETING SUPPORT:
- Market research of competitors, and emerging educational platforms.
- Pitching to educators online who may value our services.
- Creating content for the EcoRise website about partnerships, conferences, or programs.
- Developing press contacts or relations to promote EcoRise programs and events.
REQUIREMENTS
- Interests in youth, education, and/or sustainability
- Experience managing social accounts and scheduling posts for an organization preferred
- Excellent written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-driven personality with effective project management skills
- Attentive to details with keen aptitude for organization
- Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
