Free event: Austin Wildlife Watch photo tagging training

Wild Basin is a partner in an exciting city-wide project and national wildlife monitoring program (Urban Wildlife Information Network). Working with The Nature Conservancy of Texas, the City of Austin, Parks and Wildlife Department, and others, we are sponsoring a Citizen Science training for students and volunteers to learn how to help us “tag” photos of wildlife taken across Austin greenspaces.

You can sign up for the workshop on Eventbrite.

About the workshop: Urban Wildlife Information Network Volunteer Training

This training workshop will welcome Texas Master Naturalist volunteers into the Urban Wildlife Information Network and get you started identifying and tagging images taken throughout the City of Austin for the nationwide UWIN project. Goals of the workshop will be:

  • Become proficient with using the UWIN software to tag game camera images gathered through the UWIN Austin program
  • Get set up everything thing you need to get started that very day with tagging
  • Learn more about the UWIN project and see if you might want to get even more involved by adopting a camera site or even setting up one of your own
