St. Edward’s University is transforming the way we manage recyclable materials and phasing in a new single-stream recycling pilot program across campus. The new system will bring convenience, long-term cost savings and enhanced sustainability.
Single stream recycling means that all recyclables can now be placed in the same collection bin instead of being sorted into individual containers. Items with food waste will continue to be placed in trash cans only.
The pilot program has begun, with single-stream recycling bins in Ragsdale Center, Main Building, residence halls and academic buildings. Plans to add more bins across campus are underway if the community adheres to the program.
