Gwendolyn Bailey ’12 recognized for her PhD research

Gwendolyn Bailey ’12, PSM ’15 was recognized in the past year by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Association (European Commission) as the research fellow of the week. Bailey is a PhD candidate at KU Leuven University studying Sustainable Materials Science with a concentration on Rare Earth Elements. Her research focuses on life cycle assessment, life cycle costing and other sustainability assessments. She also works on project DEMETER with a focus on recycling rare earth permanent magnet motors. Bailey also co-authored a DEMETER Policy Brief “Why the EV industry must work together with REE producers.”
