Andi Utter ’20 ENSP earns Critical Language Scholarship, will study in Tanzania

Andi Utter ’20 has been awarded a Critical Language Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, to study Kiswahili. This summer she will spend time serving in the U.S. embassy in Arusha, Tanzania in an internship for the State Department and studying.

An Environmental Science and Policy major with a Global Studies minor and a 4.0 GPA, Andi has been to Costa Rica and Botswana with the assistance of a Benjamin Gilman Scholarship and a Summer Academic Excellence Award from St. Edward’s. She is a Residential Assistant, a team lead volunteer for SERVE 1 Day and a member of Students for Sustainability.
