Upcoming conference call series: International Security Under Changing Climate Conditions

This Wednesday, the Kozmetsky Center, in partnership with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), will host speaker Joshua Busby as he discusses “International Security Under Changing Climate Conditions.” The CFR series takes place via a conference call so we spoke with Joseph Sadek, Executive Assistant at the Kozmetsky Center, about what you can expect and how to join.

How does the conference call work?
Each week, CFR conference calls are interview style and students participate in a listen-only mode for the first 15-20 minutes of the call while CFR staff interviews the week’s scholar in CFR’s New York City headquarters. The subsequent 40 minutes of the call is reserved for a question and answer session with students who have dialed in from universities from across the world.

Will there be time to ask questions?
Yes, St. Edward’s University students regularly ask questions during CFR calls during the Q&A session. CFR allocates at least 30 minutes for Q&A in any given call.

Should I read anything beforehand?
CFR does provide a reading list prior to the conference call, which are sent to the Kozmetsky Center a week before the scheduled call. Kozmetsky Center staff can share those readings with students upon request. St. Edward’s University students can also find a wealth of subject-area “explainers” on CFR’s website here.

Should I bring my lunch?
Participants are welcome to bring a lunch with them if they choose.
