Internship opportunity: Garden at Central Texas Food Bank

Calling all green thumbs! Central Texas Food Bank is seeking a garden intern who will gain firsthand experience in sustainable agricultural production, including organic soil management practices, sustainable pest and disease control, seasonal vegetable rotations for Central Texas, volunteer management skills, and experiential education.

The Garden Intern will assist with the day to day care and maintenance of the garden, by leading volunteers to plant, propagate, harvest, and care for plants, by washing and preparing vegetables for distribution, and by assisting with maintenance of the garden’s physical infrastructure. This position requires manual labor and the ability to work independently and with volunteers.

The Garden Internship is an unpaid, 15-20 hour per week commitment for 4-5 months with a rolling start and end date.
