To power our campus, Facilities manages our “green portfolio” to use resources as efficiently and responsibly as possible. Wind energy is a part of that green portfolio.
St. Edward’s University partners with Austin Energy’s GreenChoice Renewable Energy program as a Patron level member. St. Edward’s, and 20 other Patron level members from across the city, make a multiyear commitment to purchasing wind energy and help to make a huge impact. In 2017, Austin Energy supplied more than 708 million kWh of Texas wind to customers, like St. Edward’s. That is equal to:
