Campus Fix-It Fair, Clothing Swap, and Recycled Art Workshop: April 25

Got something broken? Don’t throw it out. Bring it to the Fix-It Fair!

Do you have broken electronics, some missing buttons on your favorite sweater, a problem with your bicycle, or a messed up pair of old earrings?  Bring these items or any other broken things to our campus fix-it fair on April 25th on the Ragsdale lawn from 11:00-2:00, and get help fixing them from volunteer coaches! The idea of a fix-it fair is to divert items from the waste stream, reduce our campus environmental footprint, and have fun doing it! Fix-it Fairs are all about sharing skills and knowledge about fixing or repairing things using a do-it-together, hands-on approach. Booths will include:

  • Clothing
  • Jewelry & Accessories
  • Small Appliances
  • Electronics
  • Bikes

In conjunction with the fix-it booths, we’re also hosting a clothing swap and upcycled/ recycled art booth. These activities are all connected! Any items that just can’t be fixed may be great for a recycled art piece. If someone finds a shirt they like at the clothing swap, but it doesn’t fit quite right, they can bring it over to the clothing Fix-it booth to alter it or upcycle into something new; maybe a reusable shopping bag or a dress? Come get creative with us!

Please contact Dr. Amy Concilio to sign up to volunteer or to get more information about the event.
