Classes have begun and there’s a lot going on! To ensure that you know all about recycling and composting on campus, here’s a quick and handy guide. Also, check out our video on campus recycling and composting tips!
Classrooms and offices:
- Gray bins: garbage
- Green and blue bins: single-stream recycling
Indoor public areas:
- Gray bins: garbage
- Green and blue bins: single-stream recycling
- Other bins will be marked with appropriate signage (Recycling, trash, etc.)
- Bins with green bags: compostable items, such as the bathroom paper towels, small bits of food waste, and old flowers from campus events can go in here
- Hunt Hall, The Huddle, and South Congress Market all have clearly-marked bins for compostable and recyclable items
Outdoor public areas:
- Black metal bins: recycling and garbage (separate bins indicated with signage)
Residence halls:
- Each residence hall has a designated area with recycling and trash bins. If you don’t know where they’re located, please ask your residence hall front desk or RA.
Used batteries:
- Each residence hall has a designated area for them
- For the remainder of the campus, please take used batteries to Munday Library
