Environmental Science and Global Studies Major Creates UN-Funded Recycling Program in Syrian Refugee Camp

A double major in Environmental Science and Global Studies with a 3.3 GPA, Natalie Fyffe ’17 spent seven months in Jordan her junior year. She studied for a semester and, funded by a Summer Academic Excellence Award, interned with Jordanian Friends of the Environment (JFOE), to design and implement a UN-funded recycling program in the Za’atari Syrian Refugee Camp. In addition to leading Global Understanding workshops on water rights on campus, she’s also working on water quality research in Texas with Professor Porter.
