Help Learn About and Remove Invasive Plants at Wild Basin Stewardship Day: Oct 22

This month’s Wild Basin Stewardship Day will be held on the 22nd (October) from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM. If you know your plants then you will be of special use, so please come! We’re going to be removing invasive plants along the creek. If you’re not familiar with the different species of plants in Central Texas, then check out iNaturalist on your smartphone or online. There you will learn about them and some of the other plants found in Wild Basin. The two most common species of invasive plant are Japanese Privet (Ligustrum japonicum) and Chines Privet (Ligustrum sinense). We will be separating into groups lead by volunteers and interns that know invasive plants. They will guide everyone to the areas with the most invasive plants so we can get them out!

We will be off-trail so wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and long sleeves. These areas have plenty of mosquitoes so come prepared with your favorite repellant. Also, bring WATER!!

Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect by sending an email here.
