After graduating from St. Ed’s with her BA in Sociology and a Presidential Award under her belt, Laura Prendergast ’04 made a splash out in Washington state where she began commuting to work in a kayak. The six-mile journey from her home to her office as Marketing Director at Pygmy Boats in Port Townsend, WA was a carbon-free one with the help of her 17-foot Greenland-style kayak that she’d built.
