This program, based out of the Hilltop Leadership Development office, aims for students to adhere to the St. Edward’s University goal of thinking globally while incorporating leadership and sustainability.
Eco-Lead is for students in their sophomore, junior, and senior year who are looking for a way to gain a new perspective in a growing environmentally conscientious world. In the Spring of 2014, students will take an ENSP course, “Environmental Leadership in Costa Rica”, which will count for 3 credit hours and can apply as an extra credit or CULF class for many students. In the class, students will learn about the environment, policies, politics, resources and much more of Costa Rica while comparing it to that of the United States and the world in general. Students will also learn about leadership–different leadership styles, skills, what it means to be a leader, stewardship, and how it can all apply back to you and sustainability. The program also partakes in hikes, community service projects, and of course a week long trip to Costa Rica at the end of the year where we will put everything we have learned into application.
This program is truly eye opening and life changing. I hope you take a closer look into all that it has to offer! Don’t miss out!
