I found that Raul Alvarez talk was very interesting and it helped me understand some of the aspects that are incorporated in a Wicked Problem. I was surprised by some of the information in the presentation, unemployment in Austin has decreased over the past five years. In 2015 unemployment was as low as 3.2%, even though the unemployment rate is low, most jobs pay a minimum wage which makes it impossible to meet the basic needs of a family. Learning about this problems can create awareness amongst the community. This can be a useful tool to unite the community and to solve complicated problems in an attempt to create a safer and healthier city.

You’ve already found an interesting issue- Cities can brag of low unemployment but at the same time not pay a living wage. This then attracts more people which puts pressure on a few jobs there are.
