Part 1:

1. The goal of this project was to explore line and its different characteristics. There were 5 phases of the entire project, starting with line inventory, moving to gesture drawings, a sculpture made from the gesture drawing, and a drawing made from the shadows cast by the sculpture. The drawing would use the different lines created from the inventory. The last phase was to create a 4D expression of line.

2. I reached this goal by first tracing the shadows and then using my inventory as a starting point in creating the patterns and lines in my drawing. I continued exploring and found new ways to use line to make my drawing interesting.

Part 2:

1. The strongest aspect of this work is the use of edges to overlap the different images in an interesting way.
2. The weakest aspect of this is the lack of depth in the theme. I didn’t add as much meaning to the work as I could have.
3. The composition can be improved by using nicer paper and scaling the different elements so that the frames of the background and the apartment contrast better.
4. The project can be strengthened conceptually by adding some kind of meaningful message other than just size comparison of real world objects.
5. The project can be strengthened technically by making better cuts and choosing the size of each element on purpose.
6. Overall, I really like the layout and color scheme but I think I could have made it a lot more interesting.
