Babies are the springtime, beautiful and new. Children are the summer, happy and playful. Adults are the fall, sophisticated and winding down. Death is winter, cold and still. These photos are tied together by warm colors representing the transition from summer to fall. As the plants begin to hibernate, green gives way to red, yellow, and orange. As we age, youth gives way to maturity.
The photos were taken during a night out with friends; one of the last I might have with them. Not only is this time of year the end of summer, it is the end of an important part of everyones life. It is the end of a childhood. This was the last summer to be a kid, to relax before becoming a fully functioning member of society. Many of my friends have moved away by now to begin their adult lives. I am fearful of change and saddened by the loss of people once so dear, but we are also ready to make new friends and experience new things. We are ready to fall into life.
