What do you think of when you hear the word vocation?
- Maybe you associate it with a vo-tech school where students learn welding, hair styling, or some other specific job skill
- Perhaps, the word connotes the taking of religious vows
- Or, perhaps you think it only refers to ‘career’
However, the conversations we are having about vocation are not focused on the above points. Rather, the following illustration more accurately depicts how we are thinking of vocation and the significant role the St. Edward’s experience plays in shaping students’ vocation:
