I do not pray often,
but when I close my eyes
and hope for the divine
I see last summer and my ceiling fan.
I own three bibles
but am here to write my own.
My gospels will not teach lessons
on suppressing desire,
but about leaving my house
at 3 AM just to give you this love letter.
This is a dying art form I know,
but we died 5 months ago
and here I am still trying.
