Springtime has announced its arrival this March. What began as a cold and still gloomy month transformed into a warm one filled with sunshine. Albeit with the odd cloudy, windy day. I usually spent Tuesdays around midday here in Blunn Creek. The difference from when I started this blog is substantial. There seems to be life teeming all around now. From my spot by the creek I can overhear multiple species of birds communicating with each other. Every time I venture to try and spot them, it seems that their calls simply switch positions to a different location. Even though I never hear any obvious movement or rustling of branches.
A curious sight was when on the 25th of March I spotted a pair of tiny, blue, dragonfly like creatures that were hovering over calmer zone of the river. I attempted photographing these as well as taking video but I was never able to catch them in the frame or in focus.
My friends the squirrels have also finally all come out in force this month. Whereas I had previously seen only a few at a time in the past, I now see them scampering up and down tree trunks. Mating season is near. Blunn Creek has become a beautiful sanctuary from the modern world. Even though the signs of human interference are still obvious. Especially in the form of trash. However, the warmer weather and resurgence of life has made this place far more beautiful than in the past two months.
