Best efforts are made to keep this list accurate and up to date. The bookstore should always have the correct list of books for the current term. The math department does not endorse any study aids not listed here, even if the bookstore lists them as recommended resources.

We are frequently asked if an older edition of the same textbook will suffice. Unless otherwise stated, the answer is generally “no.”

Some books are also available in electronic form, which is generally acceptable if that is your preference.

MyMathLab online access code (if you buy a used copy of the book that does not include the access code, then you will need to purchase it separately). Scientific Calculator (capable of scientific notation, exponents, and logs, generally around $10-20). Graphing calculators are acceptable, but unnecessary. MATH 2413 – Calculus I

Calculus, concepts and contexts, fourth edition, by James Stewart. ISBN 9781285124278. NOTE: This is a loose leaf edition that includes a WebAssign access code. WebAssign online access code (if you buy a used copy of the book that does not include the access code, then you will need to purchase it separately). Calculator Recommended – A graphing calculator is not required, but if you already own one, it will probably come in handy. You will be learning computer software that could serve as a “graphing calculator” for any homework assignments needing technology.
