The assignment was to make an informational map detailing the spending patterns of “Tony Pierce” from the information, receipts, and spreadsheets we were given to research. I fulfilled the project requirements by creating an informational map, which would be useful to Tony on his spending patterns. I chose to zero in on the 21 shopping trips that Tony took to various markets and supermarkets. Zooming in further, I focused only on the produce that Tony bought while at those supermarkets. I mapped the usual shipping and growing of the produce Tony bought, with an emphasis on their origins, and the amount of organic produce. The process I followed was one of research and I used Adobe Illustrator for the creation of the map. I researched the origin of specific organic produce, the spending patterns of Tony, and the amount of times certain produce was bought. I made the decisions to visually show the map as a two page spread that might end up in a personal budget book. My design embodies the ideas in my concepts by using informational icons such as a bar graph, pie chart, and map. My design enhances the content by allowing the content to be clear and articulate on purpose. I used only black, white, and yellow to create a clean scene.
