Graphic Design I: Artifact Map

The assignment was to make a map of where you go, personally, in day-to-day activities. I fulfilled the project requirements by creating a map of the hot spots that I frequent on the campus of St. Edward’s. The process I followed was one that took into account research and planning. I created numerous sketches of places from different angles and found the aerial perspective to be more effective in mapping my movements.  I made the decisions to dutch the map, tilting it sideways to keep it out of the norm. This map was meant to read as more of a self-portrait than a guide on how to follow me, hence the colors and patterns that appeal to me personally. My design embodies the ideas in my concepts by showing the loops of the patterns that I follow day to day. My design enhances the content by assisting the concepts and ideas of “Buzzing Around” St. Edward’s, because, like many students, I feel very busy and productive in my daily activities when bubbling from building to building.
