5 Upcycle and Creative Instagram Clothing Creators That Deserve More Recognition

Hello! Welcome to K9 World.

This blog will be focused on clothing, sneakers, trends, and anything that interests me in the digital world.

I’ve put together a list of 5 creative Instagram clothing creators that I feel deserve more recognition.

This list is completely my opinion and my hope is that you will discover something you find cool or interesting.

@defective_garments (50.1k)

@defective_garments creates new and upcycled clothing by combining vintage sportswear and tapestry. These unique 1 of 1 pieces sell out almost instantly and the more sought after pieces resell for double on Grailed. My favorite work from @defective_garments combines rare center swoosh nike hoodies with popular anime tapestry sleeves. These pieces look amazing, and their color combinations never miss. It takes guts to reconstruct a solid vintage Nike piece that people would pay big money for and make it into something better. I’ve already started to see copy brands that make a lesser quality product on Instagram. I’m rooting for Defective Garments in the future, they clearly have a vision and will continue to make awesome gear.

reclaimed Los Angeles

Reclaimed Los Angeles combines popular Carhartt workwear jackets with utility vests to create amazing one of a kind pieces. These jackets sell quickly for $200-$300 each on their website. I really like these unique jackets because they combine popular culture and utility to make something completely new. I also like how their designs are clean and simple. I’m still waiting for the right moment to snag the perfect jacket for me one day. I am willing to bet any amount of money that Reclaimed Los Angeles will get some big recognition soon. Their products are too good of quality to be ignored.

@_yuminha_ (4.8k)

yuminha

Yumin Ha creates all over print button-ups and shirts. I haven’t been able to see any actual shirts for sale and I’m still not completely sure if these are just concepts, but regardless the designs are crazy to me and I really appreciate them. All over prints can be difficult to produce and the amount of detail in these designs are amazing. I really hope to see some of their shirts for sale soon to prove these awesome shirts are real.

@everythingwedoislimited (4.5k)

Creator of @everthingwedoislimited is @lordfubu. Fubu takes a limited number of popular fitted hats of MLB teams and adds extra embroidery around the hat. It’s got to be one of the most genius ideas I’ve seen. Getting into hat embroidery can be expensive because the equipment needed to do this type of work is upwards of $10,000. Along with hats, Lord Fubu makes unique limited rugs that sell just as instantly as the hats. It seems to me that everything @lordfubu touches turns to gold, the businessman of the future.

@mutimer.co (4.2k)

mutimer

Mutimer is a brand from Melbourne, Australia that makes a variety of different clothing. The latest collection to drop called their “Cowboy Collection” reminded me a lot of the Texas hill country. The combination of colors, designs, and clothing are perfect to me. I specifically really liked the Cowboy jacket (pictured above) because it reminded me of one of my favorite jackets that I own. I’m super excited to see more from Mutimer and I hope to see their brand in stores in the United States one day.
