  1. Looking through these author presentations, I found that I don’t know about many of them. Nikki Grimes is no exception. I love that not only is Nikki an author and illustrator, but she does so much more! Your project had the right amount of information, but I wish that it had been more colorful or attention grabbing. I feel like maybe if you were presenting this, that people would not pay much attention to what was on the screen. I also wish that you had included some of her other works as an artist or jeweler, it would have been good to see those. If you were presenting this in a classroom, I think that kids would have loved to see that. Plus, it’s good to show children that they can do many things if they put their minds to it! I enjoyed learning about Nikki Grimes through your presentation and think she would be wonderful to use in the classroom!

  2. Nikki Grimes seems like an author that all of us could use in our own classrooms because of how you said she writes for audiences of beginning readers to young adults. I really enjoyed reading the poem in your presentation and feel as though her work might be inspirational for my students. I agree with Meredith that it would have been neat to see the variety of what she does, especially including her work as a jeweler.
