Blog Post #4: Upperclassmen Work & Websites

Part 1

Faith, the photo communications senior, had very extensive portfolio of beautiful pictures that were very intriguing. Faith seemed to have the photography style of a national geographic photo journalist and I was very impressed by her work. Her photos catch the great detail of her subjects and her subject matter is that of natural life on Earth. My favorite series of photos she created was the ones she took in Thailand. They contained a lot of depth and beautiful scenery and the local color of the country.

Mary, the graphic design senior, was very good at capturing the aesthetic and organizational aspects of a composition. Mary was very good at marketing her client’s products and formulating a well developed marketing concept. I enjoyed her alien book concept and her use of both drawing and digital design.

Diana, the art senior, explored her artistic abilities throughout the years and I appreciated how much she has learned from the classes she has taken. I thought it was cool how she was apart of the art installation and different internships associated with art. Even though I don’t see myself ever being an art educator, I think she is the perfect person for that. Her art is full of form and excessive lines  that create an intricate complex composition.

John & Omar, the IGST game developing seniors, seemed to have learned a lot over the past years. Their game designs were well done and appeared to have had a lot of thought put into them. It was intriguing to see how much goes into game design and how every form of art goes into the creation of a game. John and Omar showed there skills in game design and depicted to the class all of the hard work that goes into this field.

Part 2

This website has a really good scheme and smooth operation. This website is well done and pleasing to the eye. The structure of the website is well done and there is an established sense of organizational unity.

The typography of this website is very intriguing and the gallery is well developed. This website has a well developed set up and is extremely functional. I am inspired by the structure of this website, but it is more simplistic than I would choose to have it.

I recently learned about this artist in my disabilities studies class and I think her conceptual artwork is very interesting. Her website set up could be more dynamic but I think she does a good job of displaying her artwork.

Yayoi Kusama’s website is very out there. She has extreme colors and patterns which I enjoy. I think her website is the most like her in expressing her art style and elements of her aesthetic patterns. This website I think is a little overwhelming, but I think that is perfect for this artist, and I want my website to represent me like that too.
