Remember y’all: Upload your photos onto the class site and not your own personal one. That’s how it works! Anyways, let’s talk Gestalt. His pshycology focuses on looking at images as a whole rather than the individual parts that make it up. I like this way of looking at images, but I can’t help but look at all the parts that make up the whole. That’s why I enjoy looking at buildings; those with graffiti are of extra interest. The ones focusing on the trees are more focused on depth rather than this way of thinking.
Jennifer Boudreau- Gestalt
I went to South Congress not really sure what to look for in the principle of gestalt. What I found was many different objects, scenes, and even ideas that presented the qualities that are linked through gestalt. Many of my photos focus on repetition and continuity. Gestalt methods include grouping, containment, repetition, and proximity. These are what I tried to focus on while capturing images in the South Congress area.
