Amanda, I love the idea of the international perspective of the United States election. Since the due date is the 10th, maybe try to sneak in a post-election interview. I don’t think it should end with a “go vote” because by then it’ll be too late. Obviously, you know this, this story is very incomplete. I would keep in mind a few things for when this is a video, like how the students look in the frame, making sure their voices are clear, etc. Because this video will be less than a minute and a half long, it’ll be difficult to get a full story in; however, I think you still need to put more of your voice in rather than just letting your interviews tell the story. In addition, there needs to be a more cohesive component or theme than just this is what people said.
Lauren is right. Timing is everything. Think about that when you’re shooting these interviews. You can go 2:30 for a broadcast story, remember, but that would mean that you do a voiceover, which I know you said you are reluctant to do. I hope you can make this work, Amanda. Good critique, Lauren.
