The poll worker I interviewed was named Paul. He gave me the look that he didn’t want to tell me his last name for some reason, I mean I guess he was scared of what I was going to ask. Did you ask? You’re there as a reporter. Your job is to ask!
He said usually about 30 people at a time had been showing up. I interviewed him around 11:45 and he said already about 150 people had voted. He told me he expected about 800-1,000 votes by the end of 6pm.
The organization he was with for voting is mobile and they constantly move around town. Some days they will stay in a location from 9am-6pm and other places will only be around for a couple of hours.
At 11:30 it was very hectic for the 3 poll workers helping the voters, so interviewing Paul took about one minute.
Why wasn’t any of this in your final election story?
