‘Till Death Do Us Part

What if I told you, you were a murderer? Your first reaction most likely would be confusion to  deny this accusation. Am I right? Well, what if I told you, the Earth is dying and we, humans, are the perpetrators. We, are the only ones to blame; we are the killers of the planet.

What if, we treated the Earth like the living sanctuary it is, and mourned it’s death like a humans’? What if, we actually realized that the destructive behavior that we carry will, inevitably have dire consequences, just as though we murdered the planet.

“Do Something”

What if we cared about the future generation, about the young generations right now? What if we cared, that our actions today will directly affect our children tomorrow? Would that change anything for you? Would you do things differently? Or since, you’ll probably be long gone by the time the Earth is, do you still not care?

What if I told you, you’d be held responsible for your non-sustainable actions, just like a murderer is held accountable? What if we put every human being on trial for each other’s actions and sentenced each other to death? Just like we sentence our children and our children’s children.

“Help Me”

Would you change? Would you vow to recycle, or take shorter showers, or to use energy efficient appliances? Well, would you? To save your own skin?

What would it take for you to act? To make you believe, that the dying Earth is an issue that our generation has to solve right now. To make you realize the time is now, and that nobody else can save it, but you.

“I’m Dying”

You are the Earth’s last dying hope. But hope is not enough. We need to act, and act immediately. We need to be angry, protective, and even possessive of our planet. Because, there is no replacement. There will be nothing to save us. This is our opportunity. Your call to action. Do it now, or forever hold your peace.
