Colombian Traditional Food:

Arepa
It is a bread made from fresh cornmeal in a circular way. There are times when it is eaten alone. Arepas are the base of many meals.
Ingredients:
-1 cup warm water
-1 cup pre-cooked white corn meal (P.A.N.)
-1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-1 tablespoon butter
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-cooking spray
Recipe:
- Mix water, corn meal, mozzarella, cheese, butter, and salt. Afterwards, form balls and flatten with a rolling pin.
- Cut the dough into circles through the plastic wrap.
- Coat a griddle with cooking spray and heat to medium-high. Add arepas and grill until golden brown (5 minutes per side)
Bandejas Paisa
Sanocho
Sanocho is a famous dish from South America. It contains different kind of meats with a side of white rice and a few slices of avocado.
Ingredients:
-Plantains
-Potatoes
-Corn
-Yucca
-Meet
-Avocado
Empanadas
It is one of the most popular street food. You would definitely see one on every other street corner. The Spanish word “empanar” stands for to wrap or coat in bread. They’re deep fried pockets.
Ingredients:
-1 1/2 cups precooked yellow cornmeal
-2 cups of water
-1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-1 tablespoon saloon Goya with azafran
-1/2 teaspoom
For the filling part…
-2 cups peeled and diced white potatoes
-1 chicken or vegetable bouillon tablet
-1 tablespoon olive oil
-¼ cup chopped white onions
-1 cup chopped tomato
-½ teaspoon salt
-¼ cup chopped green onions
-1 chopped garlic clove
-2 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
-2 tablespoon chopped red bell pepper
-¼ teaspoon black pepper
-½ pound ground pork and beef

–Before adding the milk, combine all the dried ingredients, cheese, egg, and butter first.
