Going on a trip to New York this season? When visiting New York, one of the most frequently asked questions is what to wear. The selection of clothes to pack for your trip to New York City can be extremely broad, and what you pack greatly depends on the time of year you will be visiting. Here are some suggestions for what to pack in your suitcase when visiting New York City so you’re prepared with the appropriate clothing and won’t have to spend money on items you don’t want.

Comfortable Shoes

When choosing shoes to wear in New York City, comfort is crucial. Walking is a way of life in New York City, whether you live there or are just visiting. Never travel without a comfortable pair of shoes. Read  The 6 Most Comfortable shoes to wear in NYC. The cheapest and most convenient way to travel is almost always by foot, so put on some sturdy shoes and be prepared to walk a lot. Sneakers are great nine months out of the year but bring waterproof boots that can handle slush and black ice patches when traveling in the winter. Avoid wearing anything that could cause you to get blisters, such as spiked heels. Additionally, now is not the time to break in a fresh pair of sneakers. Wearing shoes that appear to have been pulled from the back of your grandparents’ closet won’t offend New Yorkers, who place a high priority on comfort. However, wearing flip-flops on Manhattan’s dirty sidewalks will earn you a side-eye. Click the link to read more of Charmed by Camille.

Dark Colors

Locals of New York are renowned for their incredible fashion sense and stylish attire. As a tourist, your aim is to feel at ease while maintaining a fashionable appearance. For instance, during the day, a full-sleeved sweater or an oversized hoodie look great. Choose darker hues like red, gray, navy blue, and black since November and December are colder months. Even though New York is beautiful, the streets are quite dirty, so make sure you have a pair of dark blue, black, or olive green jeans. Avoid light colors if you don’t want mud stains on your jeans.

Bring a stylish, waterproof leather jacket with you on rainy days. We advise you to invest in a faux fur-lined jacket because it will keep you warm and help you blend in. Click here to read more about why it’s a must to wear darker tones.
