I incorporate resources other than the textbook and/or standardized curriculum in order to enable students to make connections between content and real world, and make content relevant to students.
Reflection:
Before each of the two units during my student teaching, set up a exploration table. On the table were a collection of library, personal and borrowed books, of varying reading levels, from my teaching team. Also, there were hands on mini-projects such as a smart phone microscope station, field guides, tons of fossils, various featured classroom pets, bones and theme related games.
