Domain 1: Designing Instruction and Assessment to Promote Student Learning

Artifact I

I created this tri-fold flyer as a quick resource for teachers and parents on ADHD. I collaborated in designing the flyer as part my special education course, with a focus on how IDEA protects and classifies the child development issue of ADHD. This type of project on a research topic would promote student learning and could be a terrific assessment tool for teachers to use in designing meaningful instruction.

Artifact II

As part of my literacy assessment course I designed two notebooks full of various types of student assessments. I worked with students on a range of assessments which include; phonology, phonics, phonemic awareness, and comprehension as types formative assessments to monitor student learning objectives. I also administered a Comprehensive Reading Inventory (CRI) as well as a Developmental Reading Assessment (DRI) to monitor student reading benchmarks.
