While student teaching I created a bulletin board that highlighted the various parts of a plant. For two weeks in science and in shared reading we learned about the function of each part of a plant. Individually students created a plant flip chart; labeling and drawing their own parts of a plant. But before students could do that we had to learned about the various parts, from top to bottom. My main goal was to have a visual resource for my first graders to call upon. By having large flower with its parts labeled, helped my students academically succeed in science.
Below is the image of my bulletin board, and the lesson plan that went along with it.
Anchor Charts:
Throughout my fourteen weeks, I created various anchor charts in math, science , writing and reading. Each served a purpose to help aid my students progress academically in each subject area. The following are a few I have created.
