Peter Ravn is a danish painter that focuses many of his paintings on the prototype of the modern man. He paints them in situation where they have lost control he paints them so they”let go of themselves and of control. They exist in an intimate and private room where normality is suspended. They are uniform in the modern sense, dressed in what appears to be timeless suits and white shirts suggesting something very orderly and controlled, which has then lost it momentarily.” I chose Ravn as because I enjoy his style and technique of painting. I also find his subject matter interesting. I like seeing images of normally collected and controlled men losing control, I think a part of that is the imagery of the suits which most associate with a professional and controlled. The blend of control and chaos.
