Carla Accardi was an abstract italian painter who helped form the movement for the acceptance of abstract art in Italy. Many of her works consist of patterned marks of paint on a transparent surface. I chose these two because they were more recent and are gold which is something that I have been working with in my own paintings. I also found a relation to how she uses pattern in her work and how I can possibly use pattern in my future work, maybe more refined and delicate like hers. I feel like she had a very good sense of what was just enough and what was too much.
