Bridget Riley

Bridget Riley is one of Britain’s best-known artists whose career has spanned over 50 years. She first received acclaim for her work in the early 1960s with black and white paintings that explored the dynamic effects of optical phenomena. I was interested in Riley’s work because I found a connection in how she creates optical illusions in a majority of her paintings and how I am kind of doing that with my current paintings. I thought she was a good artist for me to have looked because her works are very aesthetically pleasing and yet still containing meaning and concept.
