So I’ve lived in Austin my whole life, but I’ve never really been big into the Austin food scene. For this blog I’m going to get out and start trying the places that everyone raves about.
Obviously first on the list to try was Gourdoughs. From the time I started at St. Ed’s it has been the one place that everyone has talked about. The fact that it’s open until midnight probably plays a role in that.
So earlier this week I enlisted my brother to come with me to try it and we set off to the trailer on Burnet road. When we got their we took a look at their menu and it was clear that I was voluntarily putting myself into a sugar coma. Pretty much everything on their menu looked good.
So I ended up getting the blueberry donut holes with blueberry filling and icing. My brother got the heavenly hash which had chocolate icing, marshmallows and brownies. Both were really good but definitely something you only have on occasion. I can understand the hype around it though. It’s relatively cheap and you get enough to have some left other. I actually think they are better the next day after they have been in the fridge, but thats just me. So overall I would definitely recommend it.
