It has been an exciting week in the soccer world expecially for Real Madrid and Barcelona as they head towards the first meaningful “Clasico” of the season on Sunday. Barcelona have been well…Barcelona continuing their perfect winning streak in La Liga with another win, with a dramatic comeback during the 94th minute of stoppage time against Sevilla. The game ended with a score of 3-2, but with a huge injury for veteran defender Carles Puyol that resulted in a dislocated elbow. They are also at the top of their group in Champions with two out of two wins, the most recent against Benfica with resulted in a 2-nil game. Real Madrid can possibly say that their troubles are behind them having won the last four games played in stunning fashion. Their most recent La Liga match against Deportivo was nothing more than a goal fest as they crushed the home side with a 5-1 victory and a hat-trick or treble from Cristiano Ronaldo. The other two goals were scored by young forward Angel DiMaria and defender Pepe. As if to prove this was no matter of luck, Real Madrid played another even more impressive game against Holland’s Ajax in the second round of EUEFA Championship matches. Frenchman Karim Benzema scored the most amazing bicycle kick, or over head goal which the commentator said would be the best goal of the entire tournament. The beauty and skill of this goal could only be overshadowed by Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a second hat-trick taking Madrid to a 4-1 victory, that will be the stuff of legends. Its about time Real has got it together because their next game against Barcelona in La Liga will be their most difficult match yet and most definitely an exciting Clasico with Real trailing Barca by 8 points.

For a bit of gossip, Sergio Ramos scandalously wore the jersey of teamate Mezut Ozil who has had a spell of bad form this season and as not been played as much by coach Jose Mourino. The rumors were that Ramos wore the jersey as an act of rebellion against Mourinho.  Ramos took to twitter to explain that it had nothing to do with his relationship with the manager but it was instead his intention to dedicate a goal that he wanted to score to Ozil, and that if he had he would then show the jersey.

Although I secretly love reading any news and gossip about my favorite player Ramos, lets hope Real Madrid will continue to make headlines by winning and scoring more goals, and not locker room drama.
